Max is a one and half year old boxer/rottie mix in need of a new home. He weighs about seventy pounds and has a brindle coat. Max is a sweet and affectionate dog and quite the character. He loves all people and can't get enough hugs and kisses. He also has the legendary boxer bum wag. He is perfectly behaved at home and can be left alone without damaging anything indoors. He is crate trained but there is no need to use it. Max is super energetic and playful and would play and run all day if he had the chance. He needs a lot of exercise. He is a great swimmer and loves the treadmill too. Max is very clever and he is all personality. He loves to drive in the car. Max does have some challenges. He was not socialized as a puppy and has leash anxiety. When he is on leash, he gets very agitated when he sees dogs and cats that he can't run and play with. For this reason, a home with a large fenced in area is recommended. He loves playing with other dogs but needs to play with dogs who can stand his rambunctious nature and who have more of a calm energy. Since Max prefers the company of dogs to people, it would be ideal if he had another large calm dog to live with and ideally a dog who can put him in his place. Max's anxiety seems to worsen in a busy environment. A home in a quieter area away from busy streets would be best for him. An experienced large dog owner who can help continue to socialize Max and work through his anxiety is needed. Max has been obedience trained and knows all commands. He is neutered, microchipped, has all of his shots and is in perfect health. This is a handsome loving dog who needs an experienced dog owner who has the time, patience and skill to handle this big boy.Max is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
